Research-led engineering, operations & management consultancy

We help organisations design, assess, and deliver initiatives across engineering, operations, and agri-food value chains, combining rigorous analysis with practical delivery.

Ergon Analysis Ltd is a London-based consultancy working at the intersection of operations management, business strategy, and applied research. Founded in Cambridge by researchers with postdoctoral experience at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge, we support organisations, investors, and public authorities with evidence-based analysis and delivery support, from early feasibility through to implementation.

Agri-food & value chain development

Value chain mapping, process analysis, hotspot analysis, feasibility assessment, evaluation and optimisation across agri-food and agri-nutritional systems.

Supply chain strategy & resilience

Supply network design, risk mapping and disruption management across end-to-end operations, scenario analysis.

Engineering & research-led consulting

Technical and operational assessment grounded in applied R&D, not template frameworks.

What we do

Services

Ergon Analysis Ltd delivers advisory and analytical services that combine engineering expertise with rigorous operational, feasibility, and sustainability assessment, supporting clients from early-stage concept through to implementation.

Lead service

Agri-food & value chain development

Value chain mapping, evaluation, and optimisation for agri-food and agri-nutritional systems — including product, process and market viability assessment, feasibility studies, and investment case development.

Supply chain strategy & performance

Supply chain design, demand forecasting, inventory optimisation, performance improvement, stress-testing across disruption scenarios, resilience planning and risk management across complex operations involving multiple end-to-end stakeholders.

Engineering & industrial systems consultancy

Technical and operational assessment for engineering and industrial systems, drawing on applied research and hands-on delivery experience.

Business planning & investment cases

Feasibility studies, business case development, and investment-readiness support across sectors.

Data analytics & decision intelligence

AI and data-driven decision support for operations, including simulation modelling, and digital-twin-style analysis.

Sustainability assessment

Environmental, economic, and social sustainability evaluation, integrated into feasibility and strategy work rather than treated as a separate add-on.

Who we are

A research-led consultancy, from Cambridge to London.

Ergon Analysis Ltd was founded in Cambridge in 2018, shaped by the research-driven mindset of postdoctoral researchers at the Department of Engineering, University of Cambridge. The team brings more than 15 years of combined experience in academic research, operations management, and project delivery.

We bring the depth and discipline of applied R&D to consultancy engagements — ensuring recommendations are grounded in transparent assumptions, interpretable data, and a clear logic of value creation. This distinguishes our approach: a rigorous method combined with operational realism.

Today, based in London, we work with international clients and public-sector authorities across engineering, sustainability, and supply chain systems, with a particular focus on agri-food value chains.

Our approach

  1. 01

Clarify the decision context first, then build an analytical workplan with transparent assumptions and clear validation steps.

  2. 02

Where evidence is uncertain, use structured expert elicitation to reduce bias.

  3. 03

Map value chains and dependencies to make risks and bottlenecks explicit, using hotspot analysis to focus recommendations where they generate the greatest value.

  4. 04

Deliver decision-ready outputs — feasibility studies, investment cases, and implementation roadmaps that clients can act on directly.
